Fighting Strong

David verses Goliath, a comment someone made on the last post, is the best analogy. The beast is not conquered yet, but Tyler is still fighting hard.

Things have not yet turned around, but they have stabilized. His temperature continues to float from 102 - 104.9. No improvements in blood or platelet counts. White counts continue to bounce between 0.0 - 0.1. Transfusions and pain control continue.

The good news is Tyler's blood pressure. They would like his blood pressure (the bottom number) up around 65, but certainly no lower than 40. It had been running around 20, which was why they wanted to send him to ICU. Since yesterday afternoon his pressure has held around up around 39-50, keeping him out of ICU. The pain is also now under better control.

The infection has still not been identified.

Now that things have stabilized, and Tyler is feeling better, hopefully we will see the counts start to return so Tyler can fight what the doctors can't identify.

Dear Kyle and Cathy,
You both have amazing strength and courage. God has really blessed you both. Tyler is a very strong boy and with you as his parents there is no way, no way that he can stop fighting. I prayed to my mother this morning who is deceased to kneel at the feet of God and ask him to give Tyler peace, courage, and the will to keep fighting. I know all the angels in heaven are praying for Tyler so never stop fighting! He will win this battle.
Thank you for keeping us all informed, we really appreciate it.
With Love,
Monica Beith

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

-2 Corinthians 12:9-10

You're family is an amazing representation of true strength in times of weakness. You're in my prayers!

Yay! Wonderful to hear that things are stabilizing. I have been checking back all day in hopes of good news.
We had another benefit for Tyler at the basketball game last night. Sos Codispoti also wanted me to let you know he will be donating his fee for announcing the games to the fund for Tyler and Kiwanis will match it.

Keep fighting hard.

I was just reading about a gentleman here on Maui who is suffering as Tyler is. And I quote:

" My illness brought me gratitude. I am so blessed with family, friends, the aina and the ocean, for wisdom and plenty. I am grateful for the pain of illness, which is set out for us, to illuminate grace of good health and vitality."

Well said as he also Fights To Win.
