Home Coming!

Tyler is strong and at home. He is feeling the best he has in over a month. And more good news...Tyler does not start the next round of Chemo until Tuesday. Since treatments in this next round take 7 hours each, they administer them in the middle of the night...therefore we do not return to Children's until 5 p.m. Tuesday! Great news. Also, a home nurse is coming Monday to do the blood work, so no clinic visit (that is GREAT news!). We are looking forward to four wonderful and healthy days together.

Kathy and I would like to say again that we do not have the words to express our appreciation for the support from this wonderful community. From the meals (great breakfast this morning!), to helping with the other boys, to all the kind notes and gifts to Tyler. We are very humbled by it all. Thank you very much.

Tyler came home today to see a box addressed to him. Dan Marino signed a Hall of Fame football and sent it to Tyler. Another connection through one of Tyler's friends and supporters.

Both Dublin Schools and Keller-Williams Real Estate have set up fund-raisers to help offset the increasing costs associated with the battle for Tyler's cure. Please see their posts below.

We still have a long battle, but we are doing good right now with out 4-day reprieve. At these times I think even more about our new friends who are also in this battle. Some are doing very well, others are not. We continue to pray for them all.

Please pray for the family of Christian Barker, who we have come to know thorough this disease(only thorough emails and the Internet). Today is their first public ceremony after their son lost his 20 month battle (but never gave up his fight) against cancer. His family just sent this simple note:
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. There is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day." 2 Timothy 4:7-8
