Moving Up!

Tyler is still fighting strong. The blood bacterial infection still has not been identified, but Tyler is now attacking it anyway. His body is doing what the medicines were unable to do.

--The infection is starting to go away.

--The temperature is coming down (now floating at 100-102).

--White counts very slowly are moving up (now at 0.6).

--ANC, which was down to 112, is up to 265.

--Breathing and oxygen issues have stopped.

--Blood pressure has moved up to the 45-55 range.

--No sign of any rebounding by the cancer.

--All abdomen and chest x-rays remain good.

We still have a ways to go before we are out of isolation, but we are getting there. It looks like we are close to putting Chemo Round Three behind us. Another Tyler victory.

SCORE CARD

TYLER:3 ...... CANCER:0

It is looking doubtful that Tyler will be able to come home at all before we must begin the next round of chemo, which is scheduled for Tuesday. The focus right now is just getting his counts high enough to start the chemo.

We were so relieved to read that you are turning the bend. It just shows how hard you are fighting--having the strength to beat this thing and your body recovering from something the Drs. can't even identify! Way to go, Tyler!!

We'll do the white count/ANC dance because we know that's what it will take for you to start the next round on time. Keep focusing on one day at a time while celebrating the victories that are leading you to the final ultimate victory and defeat of cancer.

YOU CAN DO IT!!

Hey Ty, I am so proud of you. You feel so crappy sometimes and yet you do what you need to do to get better. Hang in there. (I think I need to do some more weight lifting so I can fight off the other nurses so I can take care of you). You're easy to love.
