Out, Then Back In

Tyler did get out of the room today. He got down the hall to the teen lounge and chatted with some of the nurses. We showed him the jersey and things from last nights hockey game. He is feeling very bad today, but we did get a couple of smiles out of him. His nurse, Jodi, helped a bit in that area.

Tyler now has been placed back in isolation. Everything is still improving, but the doctors decided they let him out too soon. His white count is still moving up, but going very slow (currently at 0.8). His ANC is now over 500, which is what they need to start chemo, but the low white count keeps him susceptible to infections. Since we are at a critical point in the cancer growth/reduction, it seems the doctors decided they want to take no risks that could delay Tuesday's start of chemo. Tyler's response: That's good news. Now I can watch the Miami game without being bothered.

What a great attitude to have, Tyler! Little do you know, your optimism spills over to us. When you're good, we're good!

Dear Tyler,

Glad your counts are continuing to improve. Enjoy the Miami game in peace. God does works in mysterious ways. I guess he figured you deserved a little peace during the game.

We had some excitement today. Biscuit (our puppy) had a seizure.
Turns out he may have epilesy. He is ok now. We are taking him for further tests tomorrow.

Hope you start to feel better soon.

Love,
Debbie

Hi Tyler,

My name is Sandy. I live in Indiana near Indianapolis. I am a good friend of Suzi and Katelyn Geisler. Suzi has told me what a great kid you are and what a wonderful friend you have been to Andrew. It is obvious from all the support that you are getting, that you are very loved! I just wanted to let you know that we are praying for you here in Indiana.
